Lego Technic

Advanced engineering at your fingertips

Every child at some point has owned Lego. I, like others, started with the basic bricks and developed my love from there. Lego Technic is a more advanced build and requires more mechanical thinking. my most recent build was a land rover defender 110 that is fully remote control with 5 speed gearbox, as this is not a set you can buy I had to purchase each piece individually and this took about a year to accomplish but with very enjoyable final result.

the current full sets i own are -

  • Lego Set - 42006-1 - Excavator
  • Lego Set - 8145-1 - Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
  • Lego Set - 42043-1 - Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245
  • Lego Set - 8053-1 - Mobile Crane

Some people here the brand Lego and think that it is child’s toy but this couldn’t be further from the truth when it comes to Lego Technic because through the use of Lego Technic I have learned a great deal about pneumatic and advanced mechanical systems, having now designed and built an automatic gearbox using Lego Technic myself.

The previously mentioned Land Rover I built was very challenging as it was a very accurate scale model having a 5 speed gearbox with a reversing gear, high and low range, a working clutch, disc brakes, and the choice two have it either 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive, all completely remote control using official Lego pieces.
